Assumption Antipolo celebrated the feast of the Assumption of Mary through a school mass at the Multi Purpose Building last August 15, with the theme: “MariangIniakyatsaLangitnawa’ymuli naming makamtanangkagalakanbilangminamahal ng Diyos.”

Before the mass started, the Grade 10 students had their clothing ceremony with the help of the seniors. It is a ceremony that solidifies the readiness of the students to follow in the footsteps of Christ. The Eucharistic Celebrationwas presided by Rev. Fr. James Castello and was hosted by the Grade 10. During the mass, students offered flowers at the altar in honour of Mama Mary. After the mass, the awards for the transformative educators were given out to Ms. Kristine Doronilla and Ms. Kirstin Patapat.

As part of the feast, the students were treated to delicious Assumption tarts, courtesy of the sisters. After recess, the students gathered in the Assumpta Theater to watch the cultural show entitled“Hiwaga ng Mundo” The musical was an explosion of color that the students cheered for. Hiwaga ng Buwan is about a group of beings created by God to add color to the world. The show taught us about the importance of acceptance and respect for one another despite our differences. With all the activities that day, it was truly an exciting and special ocassion to celebrate.
