The Grade 10 students were given the opportunity to show their creativity during the annually-held Entrepreneurship Day last October 2 and 3, 2019. They came up with their own cuisine concepts with unique themes. The V-Building Garden was filled with students and teachers alike flocking to the stalls that were decorated according to the theme of each booth.
A week before the Entrepreneurship Day, the students marketed their products on social media through their display photo (DP) blasts and promotional videos. After their pre-order forms were released, the Grade 10 spent their break periods collecting payments from different students of various grade levels. Then came the day itself, when the students spent the morning preparing and packaging their dishes accordingly. They also spent the time to decorate their booths. According to one student, lunch rush hour was the most tiring part of the day since they had to run up and down the stairs to deliver the dishes to some customers while others lined up at their booths to claim their orders.
Although the event was draining, it showed how the Grade 10 students exemplified service through cooking and marketing. Despite the obstacles that they encountered, their efforts were worth it because the profits made on those days are for the benefit of the batch’s Alay Kapwa at Kalikasan partners: the Special Education (SPED) students.
