Last July 18, 2019, the community of Assumption Antipolo gathered to celebrate the Holy Eucharist with the theme, “Transforming the Youth through Joyful Service”. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided by Fr. Flavie Villanueva, SVD, and was sponsored by the Grade 11 students.

Donations collected from the mass go to the benefit of the KALINGA organization, a group dedicated to bringing back the dignity of the homeless through feeding programs and bathing facilities. During the Homily, Fr. Villanueva talked about the struggles of young adults and how these struggles should bring us closer to God. He reminded us that we should be honest, open, and to put our trust in God, even in our darkest days, because what begins in difficulty will end beautifully.

Despite the heavy rains, the students actively participated during the mass, which Fr. Villanueva commended them for. After the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the students proceeded to their respective classrooms and engaged themselves with DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time which is a period wherein students read the books that they had brought for the activity.
